Looking after our clients well, is something which we take very seriously, at Smarter Technologies. This is something which Adam, our apprentice, agrees with and like the rest of the team, he believes that regular maintenance visits and face-to-face contact with our clients is an incredibly important part of good customer service.

One of the ways in which we ensure that our clients’ network infrastructure remains strong and reliable is by regular visits to check and amend any issues before they become problems. This way, we can protect our clients’ businesses, and make sure that there are no interruptions or failure of service. As part of our customer service, this not only saves money for clients by ensuring that there is no down-time to their system, it adds considerable value to their support package too.

Comprehensive Checks

There is a comprehensive list of checks which Adam has to run through to keep a client’s server and PCs running smoothly. Some of these are ‘housekeeping’ tasks and some of them are crucial to the health of the system. Here’s a list of just a few of the essential tasks:

  • Updating software for; Windows, broadband routers, servers
  • Virus scans, antivirus and firewall configuration
  • Phone system and switchboard checks
  • Note any event logs errors or any potential issues flagging up on the system
  • Internet connection speed tests, network connections
  • Removing any dust from the cooling fans inside PCs, the monitors and keyboards
  • Noting any PAT testing and UPS battery expiration dates

Adam will also check the quality of CCTV systems; problems like dirty lenses, poor picture quality or wiring damage. Most minor issues can be rectified immediately whilst we are onsite, which is great for your business and your staff can get back to work!
